As part of our international collaborations, GGS recently welcomed an Australian client for a two-day technical tour of several maize drying and storage installations across France. This visit provided a concrete opportunity to showcase different post-harvest solutions and demonstrate the expertise delivered by the GGS group.
Step 1: A modern installation with 2,000 t of storage and 150 t/day continuous drying
The first site featured:
-
2,000 tonnes of storage capacity,
-
a continuous drying capacity of 150 tonnes per day,
-
an optimized and efficient post-harvest workflow,
-
equipment designed for high reliability and operational performance.
This installation is a strong example of the modernization occurring within the French post-harvest sector, where efficiency, energy savings, and continuity of operations are key priorities.
Step 2: Demonstration of performance with two Les Mergers mobile dryers
The second visit showcased an installation equipped with two Les Mergers mobile dryers, each with a 44 m³ capacity. Together, these units allow for the drying of approximately 190 tonnes of maize per day, providing:
-
high operational flexibility,
-
mobility adapted to seasonal needs,
-
simplified workflow management.
Les Mergers mobile dryers are recognized for their robustness, ease of use, and adaptability to diverse operating conditions.
Technical discussions that strengthen international cooperation
Throughout the tour, exchanges focused on:
-
post-harvest challenges in Europe and Australia,
-
equipment adaptation to different climatic environments,
-
energy efficiency and process optimization,
-
development perspectives for international markets.
This hands-on field experience reinforces GGS’s commitment to sharing expertise, presenting real installations, and supporting partners worldwide.
