Grain handling
Conveyors, elevators, augers, belt conveyors and unloading systems for storage, drying and process lines
Move grain efficiently from reception to storage
Grain handling is essential to the performance of any storage, drying or processing installation. It determines how grain is received, transferred, elevated, distributed, unloaded and dispatched throughout the site. GGS designs handling solutions adapted to the required throughputs, site configuration, product type and operating intensity. From fixed lines to mobile equipment, each solution is selected to ensure smooth material flow, reliable operation and preserved grain quality.
Design the right handling flow for your installation
Each handling project is defined according to throughput targets, reception points, silo layout, drying or cleaning lines, transfer distances and future site development needs. GGS favours complete solutions developed around the customer’s specific requirements, rather than a simple selection of isolated products. The objective is to limit infrastructure requirements and civil engineering work, while maintaining throughput, functionality and installation reliability.
Choose between fixed, mobile or integrated handling systems
Depending on the use and site configuration, several solutions can be combined:
- Fixed handling for permanent high-throughput installations,
- Conveyors and elevators for continuous transfer between reception, storage, drying and cleaning,
- Belt and shuttle conveyors for flexible grain distribution,
- Mobile belt conveyors for seasonal or temporary needs,
- Mobile augers and transfer augers for filling, moving or unloading grain,
- Silo unloading systems for efficient discharge from flat-bottom bins,
- Metalwork to integrate the equipment safely into the installation.
Each layout is designed to guarantee smooth grain flow, safe operation, limited residue and long-term reliability.
Our handling solutions
Fixed handling
Fixed handling systems are designed for permanent installations requiring continuous and reliable material flow. They structure reception, storage, drying or cleaning lines while limiting civil engineering requirements and maintaining high throughputs.
Key benefits:
- 100% above-ground concept with simplified civil engineering
- 3 ranges adapted to your needs: agricultural, industrial and reinforced
- Self-regulated handling from 20 to 600 tonnes per hour
Grain conveyors
Chain conveyors provide continuous, controlled grain transfer between the different areas of a site. Their design helps optimise the cost per stored tonne, reduce civil engineering work and simplify maintenance thanks to fully bolted assemblies.
Key benefits:
- Patented elbow-bend conveyor for simplified civil engineering
- Easy maintenance thanks to 100% bolted assemblies
- Tracking base plates limiting residue
Belt and shuttle conveyors
Belt and shuttle conveyors are suited to the horizontal transport of straw cereals, protein crops, seed products and granules. They allow flexible grain distribution across several points, with high throughputs and gentle handling.
Key benefits:
- Horizontal transport with throughputs from 10 to 500 tonnes per hour
- Equipment compliant with current standards
- Rotation controller, belt offset controller and geared motors to silo standards
Mobile belt conveyors
Mobile belt conveyors allow grain to be transferred with a high level of flexibility on site. They are suited to seasonal needs, temporary operations and installations requiring mobile positioning without heavy fixed infrastructure.
Key benefits:
- Grain handling over lengths from 4.72 to 33.52 metres
- Throughputs from 150 to 300 tonnes per hour
- Electric motor, PTO or hydraulic drive options
Grain elevators
Elevators are designed for the vertical transport of cereals, dry pellets and powdered materials. Their galvanised and bolted steel design ensures durable outdoor installation while limiting corrosion risks.
Key benefits:
- Suitable for most dry pellets and powdered materials
- High corrosion protection: 100% galvanised and 100% bolted
- Rotation controllers fitted as standard
Mobile grain augers
Mobile augers are designed for flexible silo filling and loading or unloading operations. Their mobile design helps limit fixed investment while ensuring high throughputs according to site requirements.
Key benefits:
- Throughputs from 100 to 600 tonnes per hour
- Lengths from 18 to 34 metres for loading silos from 12 to 23 metres high
- PTO or electric drive depending on the range
Utility transfer augers
Utility and transfer augers are used to move grain over short distances between different handling points. Their versatile design makes them suitable for daily transfers, constrained layouts and applications requiring a simple solution.
Key benefits:
- Through-augers with working angles from 0° to 90°
- Trough-augers with modular, easy-to-install design
- Industrial augers adapted to specific customer requirements
Silo unloading systems
Silo unloading systems are designed to efficiently discharge grain stored in flat-bottom bins. They limit civil engineering work, maintain high throughputs and adapt to different silo diameters depending on the installation objectives.
Key benefits:
- Silo reclaim options with tunnel conveyor or channel conveyor
- Underfloor unloading concept optimising assembly, throughput and aeration
Metalwork for handling installations
Metalwork structures makes it possible to integrate handling equipment safely into each installation. The structures are designed by the engineering department to support equipment, simplify assembly and adapt to site constraints.
Key benefits:
- Bespoke installation according to your site configuration
- Bolted structures for easier assembly
- Handling support structures: towers, conveyor supports, pipe supports and catwalks
